Location: The Department of Lambayeque is located in the northwestern part of the country. Its limits are: the Pacific Ocean in the west and the Departments of Cajamarca in the east, La Libertad in the south and Piura in the north.
Climate: Lambayeque is the most coastal Department of Perú, since only a small part of it is in the mountains. The climate is pleasant, with an average annual temperature of 23,2 ºC, which in the summer can reach 32ºC.
Area: 13.736 square kilometers.
Capital: Chiclayo. Located at sea level.

Archeological: Sipán – Tucumé
The Department of Lambayeque centers its tourist offer around its archaeological sites, among which the following stand out: Sipán, Tucumé, Sicán and Batán Grande (National Archaeological and Ecological Reserve of Pomac).
Within the Department there are many other places of interest, such as the Sechura deserts or the town of Pimentel, Santa Rosa, Puerto Etén, Zaña, Monsefú and Ferreñafe.
THE CITY OF CHICLAYO
The capital of the Department of Lambayeque is an important commercial center that is of Little interest from a tourist point of view.
The main attractions of Chiclayo are: the main square, the Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, the Chapell of Verónica, The Basílica of San Antonio, the square Elías Aguirre and the Market, famous for its stalls selling herbs, medicines traditional, amulets with healing properties and objects used in witchcraft practices.
THE CITY OF LAMBAYEQUE
Lambayeque, where the first cry for the Independence of Perú, was raised, is located 11 Km from Chiclayo. This town preserves beautiful colonial mansions with large balconies and spacious patios: Cuneo House, House of Descalzi and the House of the Logia. The main religious building in Lambayeque is the Church of San Pedro, with altarpieces covered in gold leaf.
The two great tourist attractions of the city are; the Museum of the Royal Tombs of the Lord of Sipan and the Bruning Archaeological Museum.
ARCHEOLOGY IN LAMBAYEQUE: SIPÁN – TUCUMÉ
In the Department of Lambayeque, along with La Libertad, there are important archaeological remains belonging to some of the first cultures that flourished in Peru. The most outstanding remains correspond to the excavations of Huaca Rayada, where the Tomb of the Lord of Sipán, was found, and to the complex of pyramids in the Valley of Tucumé.
