The two great tourist attractions of the Department of Ancash are the impressive Huascarán National Park and the archaeological complex of Chavín de Huántar. In the 340,000 hectares of the Park, most of the Cordillera Blanca is encompassed, including the highest peak of the Peruvian Andes: the Nevado Huascarán (6,768 meters above sea level).
From the tourist point of view, Ancash offers two areas of interest, which include both natural and archaeological resources: The Huaylas Alley and the Conchucos Alley.
